Microsoft is working non-stop on making Edge a more advanced browser on the desktop, but at the same time, the company also wants its app to evolve on mobile too.

In order for this to happen, Microsoft has already released testing builds of Edge on iPhone and Android, and earlier this week, the company officially shipped a Canary build to the Google Play Store, all in an attempt to give users the option to try out new improvements aimed at mobile devices early.
Today, Microsoft is announcing new slots that will be available in the TestFlight program, therefore allowing more iPhone users to take early builds of the browser on their iPhones before the public launch.
“As part of the ongoing work to bring parity between our desktop and mobile apps, we’re in the process of opening our Apple TestFlight app to new Insiders. Apple’s TestFlight program allows up to 10,000 testers to try out apps before they are released. We’re excited to share that some of these spaces will become available soon for our iOS Microsoft Edge Insiders. If you are currently an active member of the TestFlight program, not to worry! You will continue to stay in the program,” Microsoft says.
New Canary build on Android
In the meantime, Microsoft has already shipped an important update for the Canary version of Microsoft Edge on Android.
The most recent build introduces a new menu design, with the ellipse menu now opening by showing a vertical list of options, therefore giving up on the grid.
And there’s also a new compact view of tabs without a graphic preview, which should help improve the performance overall, while also making the browsing overall more straightforward, especially on Android devices with smaller screens.
Keep in mind, however, that this is a Canary build, and it’s not recommended for production devices.
