The Orlando Magic traded All-Star center Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr. and two first-round picks, it was announced Thursday.

The first-round picks going to the Magic are for 2021 and 2023, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Bulls also acquired center Daniel Theis and shooting guard Javonte Green in a separate trade with the Boston Celtics. In exchange, Chicago sent Mo Wagner, who they had acquired earlier Thursday in another deal with the Washington Wizards, to the Celtics along with Luke Kornet.

Vucevic, who is averaging a career-best 24.5 points and 11.8 rebounds this season while shooting 40.6% from 3-point range, is a huge addition for the Bulls. The Magic are moving toward a rebuild, with Aaron Gordon having been dealt to Denver on Thursday.

'Anytime you trade a player like Nikola, it is a tough decision to make,' Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said in a statement. 'Vooch' will go down as one of the best players to ever wear a Magic uniform and we can't thank him enough for all the contributions he made to the organization, both on and off the court.'

After also adding two second-round picks with the trade of guard Evan Fournier to the Celtics on Thursday, the Magic are gathering significant draft assets to build around young players Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz, who are under long-term contract.

Chicago's leadership -- Arturas Karnisovas, Marc Eversley and Billy Donovan -- wanted to bring on a productive, serious-minded veteran player to be a cornerstone for the Bulls. They get one with Vucevic, who has been a pillar with Orlando.

'He can score, he can score down low or from the three, he's a facilitator,' Bulls executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas said of Vucevic. 'He's going to make everybody's life much easier.'

The Bulls also acquired Troy Brown and Wagner from the Wizards in exchange for Daniel Gafford and Chandler Hutchinson. Wagner was then shipped to Boston in the Theis deal.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Vucevic, who has two years and $46 million remaining on his contract after this season, is just one of four players in the league to average 21 points and 11 rebounds over the last three seasons, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Vucevic, who entered the NBA with the 76ers as the 16th overall pick in the 2011 draft, was traded to the Magic after his rookie season. In 10 seasons, the two-time All-Star selection (2019 and 2021) has averaged 16.7 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Aminu is averaging 5.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in his second season with the Magic. He has also played for the Clippers, Pelicans, Mavericks and Trail Blazers during his 11 NBA seasons.

Carter, 21, the seventh overall pick out of Duke in 2018, is averaging 10.9 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Bulls this season.

Porter will be joining his third NBA team, having played for the Wizards and Bulls since entering the league in 2013 as the third overall pick. The 27-year-old forward is averaging 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds this season for Chicago.

Whilst a student at the Royal College of Music, Adrian founded La Serenissima with whom he has performed as Director/Soloist at major festivals and has recorded extensively for the Avie label (winning a Gramophone Award in 2010). He has been Guest Director and Soloist with many ensembles and will make his debut with Concerto Copenhagen in 2019. Adrian’s performances have been broadcast extensively worldwide; his disc of virtuoso violin sonatas Per Monsieur Pisendel 2 released in 2014 attracted rave reviews and featured on the soundtrack of hit American TV series The Originals. His interpretation of The Four Seasons was released in 2015 to outstanding critical reception and his unique combination of research, editing and performing work has been recognised by twice winning the Gramophone Award for Baroque Instrumental for recording projects The French Connection (2010) and The Italian Job (2017). Adrian’s most recent recording with La Serenissima is a disc of double concertos Vivaldi x2, released in 2018, which went straight to No.1 in the Classical Charts and attracted great critical acclaim.

Known for his virtuosity and commitment as performer, Adrian also works tirelessly to research and edit new repertoire for La Serenissima. He held an Arts and Humanities Research Council fellowship at Southampton University to research the development of the North Italian violin concerto 1690 – 1740, and subsequently a two-year post as Turner Sims Professor. He curated La Serenissima’s first ever residency The Grand Tour at St John’s Smith Square, London during the 2016/17 season, devised and directed three concerts for the 2017 Vivaldi in Venice festival, and in 2018 directed the UK premiere of Brescianello’s opera Tisbe for the Buxton International Festival.
